Mum absolutely loved babies and children, her gentleness and caring exceptional. She was also brilliant fun to be with as my girls always recall. She would sing and dance with them and play every game conceivable, real or imaginable, making Evie and Alice always feel like they were the most important people in the world to her. She loved all of her jobs, but the one she cherished the most was working as an auxilliary on the maternity unit in Boston's Pilgrim Hospital. She relished the chance to see babies born and help the new mothers - she was made for that job.
